Bulletproof Boy Scouts (BTS), who recently dominated the Billboard charts in the U.S., made a special speech at the high-level meeting of the United Nations Health and Security Friendship Group held as a side event of the 75th United Nations General Assembly on the 23rd (local time) and comforted people around the world suffering from coronavirus infection. This is the second time since 2018 that they have been elected as speakers of the UN General Assembly.

In the 7-minute video released that day, the members in black suits appeared on the screen one after the other and told their stories in Korean and English. Member Jimin also said, “I was desperate (because of the coronavirus). Everything seemed to have collapsed,” he said. “(But) then, my colleagues held my hand. We patted together and talked about what we could do together.” He mentioned the moment of despair.

Member Suga said, “It’s been a while to have daily familiar life like my small room, maybe the first day after debut. It wasn’t what I wanted, but it was a precious time,” he said. “Musical instruments, smartphones, and fans existed in that world.”

This is the second time BTS has been on the stage of the UN General Assembly. Bulletproof Boy Scouts attended the’Generation Unlimited’ event of the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) youth agenda held on September 24, 2018 at the conference hall of the Trusteeship Council at the United Nations Headquarters and gave a speech in English for about 7 minutes. At this meeting, BTS members commented on their success stories and told young people around the world to “love yourself” and “find your own voice”.
